In fact, the core vision of Grit & Grace Leadership Coaching is born out of times in my life when both professionally and personally I experienced intense pain. Each of these moments resulted in growth, and the drive and resilience I learned through them that make my coaching unique..
After building a joyful career for twenty years in advertising, I was laid off one year into my dream job after the agency lost their biggest client. This moment threw me into enormous self-doubt, and I struggled to know how to reinvent myself in the job market. Ultimately, this crisis resulted in my choice to re-enter the world of higher education, where I joined the Harvard Business School Office of Career & Professional Development. I still hold my Director role there, and support both traditional and non-traditional leaders as they achieve the careers of their dreams
Another critically pivotal moment for me was years ago… when, in the span of just a few months, I became pregnant with twins, my husband walked out, I lost my twins in a miscarriage, and my father passed away. Facing the grief of this time brought me to the essence of my belief in life: that with grit and grace, it’s possible to not just survive but to thrive during challenging times.Ultimately, I remarried and found great happiness as I built a life of contribution, resilience, and joy.
Now, as a coach, I work with talented executives, emerging leaders, and leaders in transition. Every one of them is different, but they are united by their hunger to learn and grow, and to live meaningful, successful lives. I help them tap into their own strength and resilience to figure out what’s blocking them and work through to their best solutions.
Because of my own personal experience, I know that what feels like abject failure right now may actually be a bridge to future success. My fascination is to learn what makes you tick and help you get where you want to go, bringing together head and heart in a secure, structured context.
